Lecture by Marc Brettler (Brandeis). David S. Lobel Visiting Scholar lecture, sponsored by the Taube Center for Jewish Studies and co-sponsored by the Department of Religious Studies. Free and open to the public.
The New Testament began as a largely Jewish book, but it is mostly ignored by the Jewish community. As co-editor of The Jewish Annotated New Testament, Prof. Brettler will explore the importance of the New Testament to Judaism and how Jewish perspectives on the New Testament are relevant to contemporary Christianity.
